Gary Air Show 2010

The Thunderbirds didn't even run into each other this year.

Here are a few of the decent shots from the air show. I'm no Moose Peterson, but I had fun and I love airplanes. This is a challenging thing to do. I really enjoyed photographing this event. I got some dust on my sensor so I had to spot the crap out of these. I also didn't really have enough lens for this type of thing. These images are all cropped. I bought a new lens for this show and I'm glad I did. I got a lot of bang for the buck for a $150 lens. I used it at the wedding last weekend as well. The weather was interesting, the sky changed about every five minutes. I would get a nice set of clouds with a blurry airplane or a nice sharp airplane and a bunch of haze! The smoke from the prop planes didn't help. While the F-16 and F-18 were bad ass and the Thunderbirds are always cool I really dug the T-6 Texans and those groovy Russian trainers (Yak-11 maybe?). You gotta love that grey camo with the red accents. Enjoy the pics, leave a comment. Rock on. Pics after the jump...

Some dandy photos. I checked out the link to Moose Peterson. I like what he says about paying your dues and improving your skills. You're on the right path.
