Couldn't have come at a better time.

I've been having a shitty couple of days due to some stuff I've got no control over. Nothing anyone should worry about, I'm fine, just some aggravating B.S. The stuff of life. One thing that I've really been wanting (needing?) lately is a place I can go and be alone and do some creative work. I don't have much time to expound on this but  it seems I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea. I don't want to get away because I don't love or want to be around friends and family. I just need to listen to the voices in my head and sort out the shit etc... I came across this at lunch and I realize this is a common thread with creative folks. Clock is ticking for me so go here and read this, you will be glad you did.  There are two links there, the second one is a little more for the general public. Start there. Thanks. Rock on.

HI SURLY,

I AM NOT A CREATIVE PERSON, BUT SCOTT, SHAWN, AND GERI ARE. IT SEEMS AS IF YOU HAVE HIT ON SOMETHING THAT RINGS TRUE WITH THEM. OVER THE YEARS AFTER PERIODS OF QUIET WAS WHEN THERE JUICES WERE FLOWING FULLY. I ON THE OTHER HAND NEVER QUITE HAVE THAT SOLITUDE.

GOOD LUCK, I HOPE IT WORKS OUT WELL.

p.s. THE ARTICLES ARE EXTREMELY INTERESTING. DO YOU SUPPOSE SOMEONE COULD BECOME CREATIVE BY FOLLOWING THE ADVICE? JUST WONDERING.

I think creativity can be a learned behavior. If you want to be creative, create. If you are not good at creating there is plenty of advice on how to attain those skills. We are all born with it, ever see a little kid who did not draw and paint. Just like any other skill it has to be honed.
