In a perfect world or... Mortality, What a concept.

Well, I'm fairly pragmatic so I know there is no perfect world. This post started out a little differently but in light of some recent events, I'm compelled to make an adjustment. Seem everything I do in the last few years is a compromise to fit in with time and all the other shit. Anyway, my Father who blogs over at shopteacherbob.blogspot.com had a minor heart attack Tuesday night. He's doing fine. I went to see him yesterday afternoon in the hospital. He looks just like he did at his house on Sunday when we were there for Easter. That's a good thing. I took him a couple of magazines to read as he's a reader and just feels comfortable surrounded by a pile of newspapers, books, and the like. Aside from the the tubes and gown, he looked downright normal. I'm sure he'll be blogging about it and I might not get the details right so just check out his blog in a few days. Pretty scary shit, though. Like Jim Morrison said, "No one here gets out alive." and  "I want to get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes down in flames." You got that right Jimmy.
Man, with my Crazy Uncle getting the big C and Dad having a grabber I'm a little nervous. Fucking mortality... holy shit. I'm going to go count my blessings. Kiss the kids for me.

Glad to hear your Dad is doing fine, today is the second anniversary of my M.I. So with the news about your Dad and Unk going in for another procedure, I'm right there with you man. Count every one of your blessings, because that's exactly what they are.

Thanks, Man.

Yep, surprised the hell out of me that he'd be the one to have an MI and not one of the fatties.

Gymi's right, count your blessings everyday and remember that there is no guarantee of tomorrow. Believe me, 20 years in the ER and every single one of them that died looked surprised.

Good to hear it was only minor and that he's doing ok.
