You could build this.This is sitting in my buddies garage. I don't know all the answers to the questions your asking right now but I shall do my best to answer them.
1) It's built on a 61' VW platform
2)Plywood body...of course
3)Brown shag carpet for the floor and seats
4)Matte exterior latex in lavender
5)I don't think it runs currently but shows every sign that it did and should again.
